> In 1522, at the age of 76, Pietro Vannucci, known as "Il Perugino", decorated the chapel of the "Epifanie seu Magorum", the second on the right nave's wall of the church of the Madonna delle Lacrime.
The back wall is occupied by the beautiful scene of the Adoration of the Magi which takes place on the threshold of a simple wooden hut where the Virgin is seated, with the Child Jesus in her arms, to whose left is Saint Joseph.
On the sides of the throne two Magi kneel in the act of offering the ampoules, while the third is standing, to the right of the sacred group.
The procession of the Magi takes place in the background of the picture, an ideal countryside, inspired by the Umbrian landscape.

> Nel 1522, all’età di 76 anni, Pietro Vannucci detto “Il Perugino“ esegue la decorazione della cappella della «Epifanie seu Magorum», la seconda sulla parete destra della navata della chiesa della Madonna delle Lacrime.
La parete di fondo è occupata dalla bellissima scena dell’Adorazione dei Magi che si svolge sulla soglia di una semplice capanna in legno dove è seduta la Vergine, con Gesù Bambino in braccio, alla cui sinistra è san Giuseppe.
Ai lati del trono sono inginocchiati due Magi in atto di offrire le ampolle, mentre il terzo è in piedi, alla destra del sacro gruppo.
Il corteo dei Magi si svolge sullo sfondo al quadro un’ideale campagna, ispirata al paesaggio umbro.
