Scheggino is a town of less than 1000 inhabitants located along the valley of the Nera river. The story is very similar to the other centers of the Valnerina district: it must be to mention the longest siege to which the town was subjected, that of 1522 by Picozzo Brancaleoni, who however was rejected thanks to the presence of the castle and the mighty walls that at that time they completely surrounded the city.
Today this country enjoys a truly unique landscape, due to the particular beauty of the Nera valley in this area.

Scheggino è un paese di meno di 1000 abitanti situato lungo la valle del fiume Nera. La storia è del tutto simile agli altri centri del comprensorio della Valnerina: da citare il più lungo assedio a cui la cittadina fu sottoposta, quello del 1522 ad opera di Picozzo Brancaleoni, che tuttavia fu respinto grazie alla presenza del castello e alle possenti mura che all'epoca circondavano interamente la città. Oggi tale Paese gode di un paesaggio veramente singolare, dovuto alla particolare bellezza della vallata del Nera in questa zona.
