> The church of Santa Chiara with the adjoining Augustinian convent was founded by the saint of Montefalco (Chiara di Damiano, 1268/1308) and is the first and most influential of the great conventual settlements of Borgo San Lorenzo.

Second daughter of Damiano and Giacoma, Chiara was born in Montefalco, in the province of Perugia, in 1268. Taking divine love, from the age of four she showed such a strong inclination to the practice of prayer to spend whole hours immersed in the prayer, withdrawn in the most hidden places of the paternal house.

Seconda figlia di Damiano e di Giacoma, Chiara nacque a Montefalco, in provincia di Perugia, nel 1268. Presa d'amor divino, fin dall'età di quattro anni mostrò una così forte inclinazione all'esercizio della preghiera da trascorrere intere ore immersa nell'orazione, ritirata nei luoghi più riposti della casa paterna.
