Particularly interesting is the Parchment of the Emperor Frederick Barbarossa of 1163: it is a document issued in favor of the "Canonica Castellana", which placed the Bishop of the time (Corbello, schismatic) and the clergy subordinate to him under the protection of Barbarossa against the usurpers of the properties of the Canonica itself.
