Love has always been a very important theme in the decoration of majolica and an example is found in the plate (diameter 26.8 cm) presented in this post where two lovers are depicted.

The man, while kissing his beloved, offers her a flower and behind the couple runs the motto "dulce est amare". This jewel of Renaissance art was created in Deruta (Perugia), around 1550, by Giacomo Mancini, better known as "El Frate", and is now kept in the prestigious "Victoria and Albert Museum" in London (England).

L'amore è sempre stato un importantissimo tema nella decorazione della maiolica ed un esempio lo troviamo nel piatto (diametro 26.8 cm) presentato in questo post dove sono raffigurati due amanti.

L'uomo, mentre bacia l'amata, le offre un fiore e dietro la coppia scorre il motto “dulce est amare”. Questo gioiello dell'arte rinascimentale è stato creato a Deruta (Perugia), nel 1550 circa, da Giacomo Mancini, meglio conosciuto come “El Frate”, ed è oggi custodito nel prestigioso “Victoria and Albert Museum” di Londra (Inghilterra).
