> The "Pale of Foligno" is one of the most popular walls for climbing enthusiasts. You will find paths of varying difficulty where the rock is the absolute protagonist and, once you reach the top, you can enjoy a truly breathtaking panorama.

The Pale rock face is very large and has a many graded routes, ranging from grade 4c to 7c+ (V to IX+ following the UIAA scale), thus suited to everyone from experts to beginners on their first ascent.
The little medieval town of Pale is just a few kilometres from Foligno. Leave your car here, a ten minute walk will take you to the bottom of the cliff. The 157 equipped walls are along a trail that leads from the town to the hermitage of Santa Maria Giacobbe, located at the top of Mount Pale. The first sector is known as the l'Uccellessa. It is the easiest to reach and has the most low-to medium difficulty climbing routes. The more difficult climbs can be found further along the road. If you are an expert, get to the areas on the higher part and start your ascent along the route: the higher you get the better the view of the Sanctuary of Santa Maria Giacobbe. If you simply want to visit this enchanted spot, famous for being entirely carved into the rock face, you can follow a path that takes you to the top. If you look down while you are climbing, on the other hand, you will enjoy a breathtaking panorama: the valley in which the Topino River flows.

> Pale di Foligno è una delle pareti più amate dagli appassionati di arrampicata. Troverete percorsi di diverse difficoltà dove la roccia è l'assoluta protagonista e, una volta arrivati in cima, potrete godere di un panorama davvero mozzafiato.

La falesia di Pale è molto grande e ha un gran numero di vie, gradate da 4c a 7c+, adatte quindi sia a scalatori esperti che a scalatori alla prime armi.
A pochi chilometri da Foligno, sorge il borgo medievale di Pale. Vai in paese e lascia la tua auto lì, puoi raggiungere la falesia con una passeggiata di massimo 10 minuti. Le 157 vie attrezzate si trovano lungo il sentiero che dal paese conduce all'eremo di Santa Maria Giacobbe che si trova sulla cima del Monte Pale. Il primo settore, "l'Uccellessa" è il più comodo da raggiungere e ha il maggior numero di vie adatte all'arrampicata di difficoltà medio-bassa. Man mano che sali e sopra il “ghiaione”, trovi le vie d'arrampicata più difficili. Se sei uno scalatore esperto, raggiungi i settori che si trovano nella parte alta e inizia la salita lungo la via: salendo sarà sempre più nitida la vista del Santuario di Santa Maria Giacobbe; se vuoi vedere questo posto quasi incantato, famoso perché completamente scavato nella roccia, puoi anche seguire un sentiero escursionistico che, con un po' di camminata in salita, ti conduce fino in cima. Se scalando, invece, riesci a guardare in basso vedrai un paesaggio bellissimo: la grande valle in cui scorre il fiume Topino.
