> Symbol of the city of Orvieto itself, the Duomo is one of the most beautiful cathedrals in Italy and the world. The construction work began in 1290 and the was strongly desired by both the Church and the Municipality, with the intention of creating a single large cathedral for the city, in place of the two poor churches that existed before, on the beautiful square.

Inside you can admire the beautiful and evocative statue of the Pietà (1579) by Ippolito Scalza.

> Simbolo della città stessa di Orvieto, il Duomo è una delle più belle cattedrali d’Italia e del mondo. L’inizio dei lavori per la costruzione viene datata nel 1290 e la costruzione fu fortemente voluta sia dalla Chiesa che dal Comune, con l’intento di creare un’unica grande cattedrale per la città in sostituzione delle due chiese malridotte che preesistevano sulla bella piazza.

Al suo interno si può ammirare la bellssima e suggestiva statua della Pietà (1579) di Ippolito Scalza.
