> The Menotre is a high hill river that flows entirely in the territory of the Foligno mountain area.

At Pale, the river plunges into the valley below forming a series of suggestive waterfalls surrounded by thick vegetation.

The river originates from the sources of the Favuella ditch, 800 m above sea level, near the town of Orsano (mountain hamlet of the municipality of Sellano, 30 km from Foligno) and Mount Mareggia. Near the town of Rasiglia, the river is enriched by a certain number of tributary waters and widens to flow into the homonymous valley, at an average height of 530 m.

It is still possible to find specimens of brown trout and crayfish in the upper course.

> Il Menotre è un fiume di alta collina che scorre interamente nel territorio del comprensorio montano folignate.

All’altezza di Pale il fiume precipita nella vallata sottostante formando tutta una serie di suggestive cascate circondate da una folta vegetazione.

Il fiume nasce dalle sorgenti del fosso di Favuella, ad 800 m s.l.m., nei pressi del paese di Orsano (frazione montana del comune di Sellano, a 30 km da Foligno) e del monte Mareggia. Nei pressi dell’abitato di Rasiglia, il fiume si arricchisce di un certo numero di acque tributarie e si allarga a scorrere nella omonima valle, ad un’altezza media di 530 m s.l.m.

Anche se in numero esiguo, è tuttora possibile incontrare esemplari di trota fario e gamberi di fiume nel corso superiore.
