> Today we discover some new details on another work of our museum.

Entering room E it is impossible not to notice a large canvas, made by Francesco Providoni, representing San Giovanni da Capestrano and San Pasquale Baylon.
We find ourselves in front of a crowded composition, in which the two Saints stand out in the foreground, to the left S. Giovanni holding the Crucifix and the emblem of San Bernardino, to the right S. Pasquale in adoration of the Eucharist, to which he dedicated his Life, finally to divide the scene in half, an elegant angel.

In the background our gaze is struck by the scene of the battle of Belgrade, in which Christians fought against the invasion, here the figure of St. John is repeated right between the front lines, in the act of inciting the nearly 5,000 men he was driving to have faith. He was seventy years old, in 1456, when he found himself for eleven days and eleven nights without ever leaving the field, committing himself to the defense of freedom.

High on a soft cloud, the Trinity holding the Globe and a triumph of celestial figures where we find for the third time the figure of St. John, always flanked by the Bernardinian symbol held this time by two little angels, kneeling in front of them.

This canvas is also rich in other hidden details, we are waiting for you to learn more and observe them closely!

> Scopriamo oggi qualche nuovo dettaglio su un’altra opera del nostro museo.

Entrando nella sala E è impossibile non notare una grande tela, realizzata da Francesco Providoni rappresentante San Giovanni da Capestrano e San Pasquale Baylon.
Ci troviamo di fronte ad una composizione affollata, nella quale spiccano in primo piano i due Santi, a sinistra S. Giovanni che regge il Crocefisso e l’emblema di San Bernardino, a destra S. Pasquale in adorazione dell’Eucarestia, alla quale dedicò la sua Vita, infine a dividere la scena a metà, un elegante angelo.

In secondo piano il nostro sguardo è colpito dalla scena di una battaglia, quella di Belgrado, in cui i cristiani combatterono contro l’invasione, qui la figura di San Giovanni è ripetuta proprio tra le prime linee, nell'atto di incitare i quasi 5.000 uomini che guidava ad avere fede. Aveva settant'anni, nel 1456, quando si trovò per undici giorni e undici notti senza abbandonare mai il campo, impegnandosi nella difesa della libertà.

In alto su di una soffice nuvola, la Trinità che tiene il Globo ed un trionfo di figure celesti dove troviamo per la terza volta la figura di San Giovanni, sempre affiancato dal simbolo bernardiniano retto questa volta da due angioletti, inginocchiato di fronte a loro.
