Domenico Bruschi (Perugia, 1840 - Rome, 1910), gained great fame with the first important work he was commissioned: the frescoes in the Provincial Council Hall in the Palazzo della Prefettura in Perugia, executed in 1873.
At the time, the province of Perugia extended throughout the Umbrian territory so much that in the past it was also known as the "Umbrian Province", including Rieti and the Sabina until 4 March 1923 which by royal decree were joined to the province of Rome until 1927, year of establishment of the province of Rieti (established with part of the territory of L'Aquila) and of the province of Terni.
The post is dedicated to the following four paintings by Bruschi that adorn the Council Hall of the Palazzo della Provincia in Perugia (from the left): Allegory of the Umbrian Province, Allegory of Perugia, Allegory of Foligno, Allegory of Terni.

Domenico Bruschi (Perugia, 1840 - Roma, 1910), acquistò gran fama con la prima opera importante che gli fu commissionata: gli affreschi della sala del Consiglio Provinciale nel Palazzo della Prefettura a Perugia, eseguiti nel 1873.
All'epoca, la provincia di Perugia si estendeva in tutto il territorio umbro tanto che in passato era nota anche come “Provincia Umbra”, comprese Rieti e la Sabina sino al 4 marzo 1923 che per decreto regio furono unite alla provincia di Roma fino al 1927, anno d'istituzione della provincia di Rieti (costituita con parte del territorio aquilano) e della provincia di Terni.
Il post è dedicato ai seguenti quattro dipinti del Bruschi che adornano la Sala del Consiglio del Palazzo della Provincia a Perugia (da sinistra): Allegoria della Provincia umbra, Allegoria di Perugia, Allegoria di Foligno, Allegoria di Terni.
