> CASTELVIETO is one of the 8 villages of CORCIANO. It stands on one of the numerous hills dominated by Monte Rentella, located in the middle of the wide valley of the Caina torrent.
The abundance of water and the fertility of the land has favored human settlement since ancient times and in the Roman era the town was born with the name of PIEVE TIVIANA, it is a testimony to the discovery of a stretch of a Roman road the via Amerina . The current name derives from the toponym CASTRUM VETUS.
The new town today rises in the valley, but the castle-village is well maintained and from there you can enjoy an excellent view to admire the beautiful Corcianese valley
