> A unique work of art: the largest ceramic Christmas tree in the world. You can admire until 6 January 2018 in the center of Deruta. It is made with a ceramic coating consisting of nineteen cylinders and over a hundred Christmas balls painted by hand.
The effect is extraordinary: a tribute to the tradition of a city whose history is linked to ceramics in an indissoluble way. The peak of the production dates back to the early sixteenth century but already in the Middle Ages local artists were distinguished by the quality of their works.
The project involved 19 potters and 3 turners (below the names)

> Un’opera d’arte unica nel suo genere: l’albero di Natale in ceramica più grande al mondo. Si può ammirare fino al 6 gennaio 2018 nel centro di Deruta. È realizzato con un rivestimento in ceramica composto da diciannove cilindri e da un centinaio di palline natalizie dipinte a mano.
L’effetto è straordinario: un omaggio alla tradizione di una città la cui storia è legata alla ceramica in modo indissolubile. L’apice della produzione risale ai primi anni del Cinquecento ma già nel Medioevo gli artisti locali si distinguevano per la qualità delle loro opere.
Il progetto ha coinvolto 19 ceramisti: Giulio Gialletti, Claudia Ciotti, Alvaro Binaglia, Massimo Veschini, Patrizio Chiucchiù, Marianna Mercante, Mario Barbetti, Gerardo Rebigini, Giovanni Marinetti, Maioliche Pia, G&P Ceramiche Artistiche, Kujtim Timi Turkeshi, Ceramic Arte, Annalisa Mordenti, Carmen Monotti, Annarita Marmottini, L’antica Deruta, Paolo Preziotti e Daniele Buschi. Li hanno affiancati 3 tornianti: Agostino Veschini, Roberto Barcaccia e Massimo Contardi. I cilindri sono stati tutti realizzati con argilla refrattaria, fornita da Bartoli Refrattari Deruta.
