WHO WAS ROMANO RANIERI (1935 - 2015)
Two are the things that immediately affect the person who looks at the work of Romano Ranieri:
the first one, for those who look at his beautiful pottery, is the extraordinarily unmatched, unique technical expertise with which he not only succeeds in reproducing ineffable the most diverse and extraordinary masterpieces of universal painting but is capable of inventing, imagine, conceive and to create methods, procedures and magical alchemies capable of imparting to this ancient form of art originality and novelty.
The second thing that strikes the observer, this time getting into the maleness of his painting on canvas, is that certain innocence, purity, illiteracy in the mind that those works arise, and in essence, the fact that Romano Ranieri preserves intact and her entire "childhood" pascoliana memory.
In fact, in these works by the artist Derutense there is a sort of reassuring atmosphere, that the delicacy and almost discretion of his colors and his particular and entirely personal way of placing space, objects, objects, things in space , they know how to effectively create and supersede, bringing us into the peculiarity of his creativity, his imagination, the genuine freshness of his soul and artist spirit, tormented and troubled yet serene and engaging.
His artistic livelihood, has donated fifty years experience, contributing to establishing a secular tradition in ceramics in Deruta. He is positioned in between the masters who give continuity to this school of cultural esthetics and artesian genuineness, whom characterize and distinguish the “Derutese” style.
Romano, as few others, can be known for aiming affection and devotion towards the community. He has always practiced teaching and transferring his knowledge, without funds, to his pupils- technical familiarizes and the necessary esthetics in producing the most beautiful ceramics with superior characteristics.

CHI ERA ROMANO RANIERI (1935 - 2015):
Due sono le cose che immediatamente colpiscono la persona che guarda i lavori di Romano Ranieri:
la prima, per chi osservi le sue splendide ceramiche, è la straordinaria ineguagliabile, unica perizia tecnica con la quale, non solo riesce a riprodurre in maniera ineffabile i più diversi e straordinari capolavori della pittura universale, ma è capace di inventare, immaginare, concepire e creare metodi, procedure e magiche alchimie capaci di imprimere a questa antichissima forma d’arte originalità e novità.
La seconda cosa che colpisce l’osservatore, questa volta addentrandosi nella malia della sua pittura su tela, è quella certa innocenza, purezza, illibatezza d’animo che quelle opere scaturiscono, e, in buona sostanza, il fatto che Romano Ranieri conserva intatto e tutto intero il suo “fanciullino” di pascoliana memoria.
C’è, infatti, in questi lavori dell’artista derutese una sorta di rassicurante atmosfera, che la delicatezza e, quasi, discrezione dei suoi colori e quel suo particolare e del tutto personale modo di collocare nello spazio elementi, oggetti, motivi, cose, sanno efficacemente creare e sostanziare, facendoci introdurre nella peculiarità della sua creatività, della sua fantasia, della genuina freschezza del suo animo di uomo e di artista, tormentato e travagliato eppure sereno e coinvolgente.
Il suo sostentamento artistico, ha donato cinquanta anni di esperienza, contribuendo a stabilire una tradizione secolare nella ceramica di Deruta. Si posiziona tra i maestri che danno continuità a questa scuola di estetica culturale e genuinità artesiana, che caratterizzano e contraddistinguono lo stile "Derutese".
Romano, come pochi altri, può essere conosciuto per puntare l'affetto e la devozione verso la comunità. Ha sempre praticato l'insegnamento e trasferendo le sue conoscenze, senza fondi, ai suoi allievi: conoscenze tecniche e l'estetica necessaria per produrre le ceramiche più belle con caratteristiche superiori.
