> Church of San Valentino - Scheggino (Perugia)
The church of S. Valentino is linked to the cult of the holy bishop of Terni. The Romanesque building, datable to the beginning of the thirteenth century, with walled parapet in polished curtain of ashlars and a two-gabled façade with a bell gable, preserves inside the fresco decoration, executed between the fourteenth and sixteenth centuries, with inscriptions of the commissioners of votive images that cover almost entirely the walls.
This church originally had to be a monastic cell Oratory with an adjoining hospice, then in 1190 it passed to the Abbey of Ferentillo which was confirmed in 1231 by Gregory IX. In the century XIV we find it to belong to the Plebato di Civitella (code Pelosius).
Near the villa is a Hospice for pilgrims in the word the Cross in the valley, and a second church dedicated to St. Lucia.

La chiesa di S. Valentino è legata al culto del santo vescovo di Terni. L’edificio romanico, databile al principio del XIII secolo, con paramento murario in levigata cortina di conci e facciata a due spioventi con campanile a vela, conserva all'interno la decorazione a fresco, eseguita fra i secoli XIV e XVI, con le iscrizioni dei committenti delle immagini votive che ricoprono quasi interamente le pareti.
Questa chiesa alle origini doveva essere un Oratorio di cella monastica con attiguo ospizio, poi nel 1190 passò all'Abbazia di Ferentillo a cui fu confermata nel 1231 da Gregorio IX. Nel sec. XIV la troviamo appartenere al Plebato di Civitella (cod. Pelosius).
Nei pressi della villa ricorda un Ospizio per i pellegrini in vocabolo la Croce a valle, e una seconda chiesetta dedicata a S. Lucia.
