> CERALTO CASTLE. It is known that the name Ceralto refers to Cereris altus or altior and therefore to the cult of Cerere, Roman goddess of agriculture, but when one considers better the geographical position, the natural environment of oak and Turkey oaks and the popular diction of " Cerralto" we have reason to advance other hypotheses about the origin of the toponym. Scenario of struggles between the cities of Todi and Perugia, it was destroyed by the latter in 1311.
After a period, in which it alternated now one hour to the next, the castle remained under the Tuderte domain for a long time. The coat of arms superimposed on the entrance door to the castle itself still bears witness to this. The singular location, the happy fusion between the structure of the site and the architectural typology, the absolute peace that reigns make Ceralto a happy island out of time

> CASTELLO DI CERALTO. E' noto che il nome Ceralto richiami a Cereris altus o altior e quindi al culto di Cerere, dea romana dell'agricoltura, ma quando si consideri meglio la posizione geografica, l'ambiente naturale della quercia e del cerro e la dizione popolare di "Cerralto" si ha ragione di avanzare altre ipotesi circa l'origine del toponimo. Scenario di lotte tra le città di Todi e Perugia, fu da quest'ultima distrutta nel 1311.
Dopo un periodo, in cui alternativamente soggiacque ora all'una ora all'altra, il castello rimase a lungo sotto il dominio tuderte. Ne fa ancora fede lo stemma sovrapposto alla porta d'ingresso al castello stesso. La singolare ubicazione, la felice fusione tra l'articolato del sito e la tipologia architettonica, l'assoluta pace che vi regna fanno di Ceralto un'isola felice fuori dal tempo
