> MONTE DEL LAGO is situated on a promontory close to the Trasimeno lake, this village, part of the Municipality of Magione, entirely surrounded by walls, has a fan-shaped structure set on a steep central road.

Was fortified in the fourteenth century and, starting from 1556, became the seat of the lake government. The road that starts from the tower located at the entrance to the village, descends towards the shores of the lake.

Monte del Lago, despite being a very small village, has hosted illustrious people who have worked, thought and reinvigorated themselves in peace and the beauty of the landscape.
A plaque recalls the names of famous people linked to this land: Giovanni Antonio Campano, great scholar, who composed here the treatise "De Felicitate Trasimeni", the poet Vittoria Agnoor Pompili, the great Puccini musician, Bartolomeo Borghi, author of the first geographic atlas Italian, who was born in nearby Zocco.

From the top you can enjoy a wonderful view of Lake Trasimeno, on one side, which on the inside with Magione on the other side. You have the opportunity to enjoy both the sunset and sunrise moving a few meters.

> MONTE DEL LAGO è situato su un promontorio a ridosso del lago Trasimeno, questo borgo, frazione del Comune di Magione, interamente cinto da mura, presenta in pianta con una struttura a ventaglio impostata su una ripida strada centrale.

Monte del Lago venne fortificato nel XIV secolo e, a partire dal 1556, divenne sede del governo del lago. La strada che parte dalla torre posta in corrispondenza dell’accesso al borgo, scende verso le sponde del lago.

Monte del Lago, pur essendo un borgo piccolissimo, ha ospitato personaggi illustri che nella pace e fra la bellezza del paesaggio, hanno lavorato, pensato e si sono ritemprati.
Una lapide ricorda i nomi di personaggi famosi legati a questa terra: Giovanni Antonio Campano, grande letterato, che compose qui il trattatello "De Felicitate Trasimeni", la poetessa Vittoria Agnoor Pompili, il grande musicista Puccini, Bartolomeo Borghi, autore del primo atlante geografico italiano, che nacque nella vicina Zocco.

Dalla cima si gode un panorama meraviglioso sul lago Trasimeno, da una parte, che all'interno con Magione dall'altra parte. Si ha modo di godere sia del tramonto che dell'alba spostandosi di pochi metri.
