Scheggino was built by the Duchy of Spoleto to defend one of the three bridges over the Nera, thus fulfilling a sentinel function. The chronicles tell of a victorious resistance to a siege (1522) attempted by the leader Picozzo Brancaleoni who failed to overcome the walls and fortifications built in the eleventh and twelfth centuries.

An extraordinary place where you can relive the beauty of time that here seems to have stopped, by walking in the alleys and admiring what the man of the past created and what man today has managed to preserve.

> Scheggino è un comune di 456 abitanti della provincia di Perugia ubicato in prossimità del fiume Nera.
Scheggino fu edificato dal Ducato di Spoleto per difendere uno dei tre ponti sul Nera, assolvendo così ad una funzione di sentinella. Le cronache raccontano di una vittoriosa resistenza ad un assedio (1522) tentato dal condottiero Picozzo Brancaleoni che non riuscì a superare le mura e le fortificazioni costruite nel XI e XII secolo.

Un luogo straordinario dove poter rivivere la bellezza del tempo che qui sembra essersi fermato passeggiando nei sui vicoli ed ammirando ciò che l'uomo di un tempo ha creato e ciò che l'uomo oggi è riuscito a conservare.
