> Near the suggestive village of Aviano (Terni) you can find these houses, symbol of the poorest rural culture dating back to the 800s, which were built far from the country with the materials that the farmers found on the spot, kneaded rainwater, clay typical of our land, straw and hay. They had maximum two rooms. Inside there could be a table, the ark for the bread (when there was) and a few utensils for cooking like a jug, a hot pot or a pignatto. They slept on straw mattresses. These houses in raw earth have been bound by the superintendency to be safeguarded to witness the hard life of the farmers of the past.

> Vicino al suggestivo borgo di Aviano (Terni) si possono trovare queste abitazioni, simbolo della civiltà contadina più povera e risalenti all'800, che venivano costruite lontano dal paese con i materiali che i contadini trovavano sul posto,impastavano acqua piovana, l'argilla terra tipica delle nostre zone, la paglia e il fieno. Avevano massimo due stanze. All'interno poteva esserci un tavolo, l'arca per il pane (quando c'era) e pochi suppellettili per cucinare tipo brocca, caldaio o pignatto. Dormivano su pagliericci. Queste casette in terra cruda sono state vincolate dalla soprintendenza per essere salvaguardate a testimoniare la vita dura dei contadini di un tempo.
