Mindful of this, when other producers invested in distant regions, we decided not to leave our land, Umbria, which we know deeply from a climatic, pedological, environmental and human point of view: we are deeply convinced that a wine should be an expression of the territory from which it comes, and our territory is Umbria!
So in 2000 we bought 20 hectares from which the production of Sagrantino, Montefalco Rosso, Sagrantino Passito and Grappa Riserva di Sagrantino was born.
The winery is located in Turrita di Montefalco and is completely underground, with grapes loading and vinification set by gravity and a natural control of the ambient temperature. Externally, surrounded by the vineyard, a villa with ancient architecture offers a 360 ° panorama of the Umbrian Valley, which can be admired from the large Salone delle feste ideal for weddings, dinners, concerts, conventions and ... parties.
The attention to the environment that animates the Lungarotti activities in Torgiano - where renewable energy is produced from the waste of the vine - translates here to Turrita with the choice of a biological production: the wines are certified organic starting from the 2014 vintage, to outcome of the three years in conversion regime.

Memori di questo, quando altri produttori investivano in regioni lontane, noi abbiamo deciso di non uscire dalla nostra terra, l’Umbria, che conosciamo profondamente da un punto di vista climatico, pedologico, ambientale e umano: siamo infatti profondamente convinti che un vino debba essere espressione del territorio da cui proviene, e il nostro territorio è l’Umbria!
Così nel 2000 abbiamo acquistato 20 ettari da cui è nata la produzione di Sagrantino, Montefalco Rosso, Sagrantino Passito e Grappa Riserva di Sagrantino.
La cantina si trova a Turrita di Montefalco ed è completamente sotterranea, con il caricamento uve e la vinificazione impostati per gravità e un controllo naturale della temperatura ambientale. Esternamente, circondata dal vigneto, una villa dalle architetture antiche offre un panorama a 360° sulla Valle Umbra, che si può ammirare dal grande Salone delle feste ideale per matrimoni, cene, concerti, convegni e…feste.
L’attenzione all'ambiente che anima le attività Lungarotti a Torgiano - dove si produce energia rinnovabile dagli scarti della vite - si traduce qui a Turrita con la scelta di una produzione biologica: i vini sono certificati bio a partire dall'annata 2014, ad esito dei tre anni in regime di conversione.
