Historic hotel in Assisi, opened in 1908 by the English lady Fanny Morgan, is today a modern three-star hotel, equipped with all the comforts of the category, and is still managed by its descendants.

Built on land received as a gift for the wedding between the English lady Fanny Morgan and Raffaele Stoppini, the hotel was inaugurated back in 1908. The name's origins are uncertain: in honor of the Anglo-Saxon natives of Fanny, it was initially called Hotel Windsor , even if it is not clear the reference to the surname of the English royal house. In fact, it was in the 1917 that King Joel V chose to change the name of his house from Saxe-Coburg-Gotha to Windsor, to respond to the growing anti-German sentiment that arose in Britain during the First World War.

Costruito su un terreno ricevuto come dono per le nozze tra la lady inglese Fanny Morgan e Raffaele Stoppini, l'albergo fu inaugurato nel lontano 1908. Incerta è l'origine del nome: in onore dei natali anglosassoni di Fanny, inizialmente fu chiamato Hotel Windsor, anche se non è chiaro il riferimento al cognome della casa reale inglese. Infatti, fu solo nel 1917 che Re Giogio V scelse di cambiare il nome del proprio casato da Saxe-Coburg-Gotha in Windsor, per rispondere al crescente sentimento anti-tedesco sorto in Gran Bretagna durante la prima guerra mondiale.
