"Adoration of the Child with Saint John and two angels" is a very precious round (oil tempera on wood, diameter 80 cm) painted by Perugino around 1485. Maria is flanked by two angels; the angel on the right leads to her Giovannino while the Virgin turns her adoring gaze towards the Baby. Of extraordinary beauty is also the background that recalls the most typical of the landscapes of our Umbria.
After centuries of oblivion, its origin is unknown, the painting reappeared to the public around 1940 and since then it has always been preserved in the Staatsgalerie of Stuttgart (Germany).

“Adorazione del Bambino con san Giovannino e due angeli” è un pregevolissimo tondo (tempera ad olio su legno, diametro 80 cm) dipinto dal Perugino intorno al 1485. Maria è affiancata da due angeli; l'angelo sulla destra conduce a lei Giovannino mentre la Vergine volge il suo sguardo adorante verso il Bambinello. Di straordinaria bellezza è anche lo sfondo che richiama il più tipico dei paesaggi della nostra Umbria.
Dopo secoli di oblio, ignota è anche la sua provenienza, il dipinto è riapparso al pubblico intorno al 1940 e da allora è sempre stato conservato nella Staatsgalerie di Stoccarda (Germania).
