> HOTEL BRAMANTE TODI. The Family. A deep passion for hospitality that has been passed down through three generations.
In the fifties, our grandparents, Enok and Flora, were the owners of the only hotels in Todi: The Mancini and the Hotel Cavour, both located right in the historic center of town. With 24 available rooms and breakfast served at Bar Tazza d’Oro dell’Eva, Grandma Flora welcomed and pampered her guests with love and care. On a curious note, there were actually 22 rooms because the numbers 13 and 17 were missing—for superstitious reasons. This tradition was passed on to Hotel Bramante and you will not find these rooms on any floor. The fame of Todi as a tourist destination began to grow and so, with the spirit of hospitality in their heart and blood, our parents, Francesco and Gabriella, decided to restructure the ancient Franciscan monastery Santa Margherita. The building, dating back to the twelfth century, has been renovated over the years and has been expanded to become the Hotel Bramante as we know it today, so named because it is located under the Temple of Santa Maria della Consolazione, a 16th century church attributed to Donato Bramante.

The HOTEL. It was the late '70s when our father, Francesco Montori, had the idea of buying a ruin with an adjoining farm a few steps away from one of the most famous and beautiful monuments in Todi: The Bramante-style Tempio della Consolazione. The ruin was actually the former Franciscan monastery of Santa Margherita, a building dating back to the twelfth century that gave its name to our restaurant. After painstaking restructuring, the hotel was inaugurated on February 23rd, 1982. In the beginning, our residence had 43 rooms furnished with rustic period furniture to recreate the atmosphere of the ancient monastery. As you can imagine, the restoration project did not end there and between the end of the 1990s and the early 2000s, the panoramic outdoor swimming pool, tennis court, soccer field, new wing of rooms and the Congress Center were built. In 2015, we added the wellness area and from 2008 to 2018, artist Meg Robert studied and repurposed style drawings with medieval art in the various corners of the residence and curated the restyling of the furnishings in the various and rooms and spaces.

Negli anni Cinquanta i nostri nonni, Enok e Flora erano i proprietari degli unici Hotel a Todi: il Mancini e l’Hotel Cavour situati in pieno centro storico. Con 24 camere a disposizione e con la prima colazione servita dal Bar Tazza d’Oro dell’Eva, la nonna Flora ha accolto e coccolato con cura e amore i suoi ospiti. Una nota curiosa: le camere erano 22 e mancavano la numero 13 e 17 per motivi scaramantici. Questa “tradizione” è rimasta anche nell’Hotel Bramante, non troverete queste camere in nessun piano. La fama di Todi come meta turistica stava cominciando a crescere e così con lo spirito dell’ospitalità nel cuore e nel sangue, i nostri genitori, Francesco e Gabriella, decisero di ristrutturare l’antico monastero francescano Santa Margherita. L’ edificio risalente al XII secolo è stato ristrutturato nel corso degli anni e si è ampliato fino a diventare l’attuale Hotel Bramante, chiamato così perché si trova sotto il Tempio di Santa Maria della Consolazione, chiesa cinquecentesca attribuita a Donato Bramante.

L'HOTEL. Era la fine degli anni ’70 quando nostro padre, Francesco Montori, ebbe l’idea di comprare un rudere con annesso podere a pochi passi da uno dei monumenti più noti e belli di Todi: il bramantesco Tempio della Consolazione. Il rudere era in realtà l’ex monastero francescano di Santa Margherita, un edificio risalente al XII secolo che ha dato il nome al nostro ristorante. Dopo un lento e amorevole lavoro di ristrutturazione, l’inaugurazione dell’Hotel ci fu il 23 febbraio del 1982. All’inizio la nostra Residenza aveva 43 camere arredate con mobili d’epoca in stile “arte povera” per ricreare l’atmosfera dell’antico monastero. Come potete immaginare i lavori non finirono lì e tra la fine degli anni ’90 e i primi anni del 2000 è stata costruita la piscina panoramica esterna, il campo da tennis/calcetto e una nuova ala con camere e Polo Congressuale.
Nel 2015 abbiamo aggiunto la zona benessere e dal 2008 al 2018 l’artista Meg Robert ha studiato e riproposto nei vari angoli della Residenza disegni in stile con l’arte medievale ed ha curato il restyling degli arredi dei vari ambienti e delle camere.
