> GUALDO TADINO is a village full of interesting attractions for their historical and artistic value. The medieval aspect of this picturesque town gives it a charming and fascinating atmosphere made precious by splendid Romanesque churches, characteristic little squares and unforgettable views.
The entire village is dominated by the ancient Rocca Flea, which takes its name from the nearby river Flebeo: it was strongly desired in the thirteenth century by Frederick II of Swabia who made it its residence and military fortification to defend the entire village.
Today it houses the Civic Museum whose art gallery boasts numerous works by Matteo da Gualdo, painter of the area active in the second half of the fifteenth century. The museum also houses a remarkable collection of ceramics: precisely the creation of artistic majolica is the activity that has characterized Gualdo Tadino over the centuries.
This production is still practiced today by many local artisans: this allows the possibility of group access to one of the workshops of potters in the area to observe their expert decorative techniques.

L’intero paese è dominato dall’antica Rocca Flea che prende il nome dal vicino fiume Flebeo: essa è stata fortemente voluta nel XIII secolo da Federico II di Svevia che ne fece la propria residenza e fortificazione militare a difesa dell’intero borgo.
Ad oggi ospita il Museo Civico la cui pinacoteca vanta numerose opere di Matteo da Gualdo, pittore della zona attivo nella seconda metà del Quattrocento. Il museo ospita anche una notevole collezione di ceramiche: proprio la creazione di maioliche artistiche è l’attività che ha contraddistinto nei secoli Gualdo Tadino.
Questa produzione è praticata ancora oggi da numerosi artigiani locali: questo consente la possibilità di accedere in gruppo ad una delle botteghe di ceramisti della zona per osservare le loro sapienti tecniche decorative.
