> The SPELLO INFIORATA
It is a wonderful event that is repeated every year, in correspondence with the Corpus Domini, called the Infiorata.
The preparation begins on Saturday evening with the Night of the Infiorata, when numerous groups of infioratori participate in the "capatura" of the flowers.
Three kilometers of carpets covered with flowers that cross the heart of the city. The passionate infioratori of the city of Spello, they work all the year in order to prepare in the best way the demonstration. The marvelous infiorate (carpets and paintings) that Italian and foreign visitors can admire are the result of a complex and difficult job that requires days, weeks and even months of patient and skilled work of many people who distribute the tasks to groups, collaborating in total harmony.
Already a few weeks before, walking through the alleys of the old town, you can see people who are preparing the flowers needed to make their own carpet: daisies, acacias, roses, marigolds, to be used dried for the darker shades, waiting to collect at the last moment fresh flowers like blue, white and fuchsia cornflowers, white and yellow daisies, wormwood, fennel and broom.

> L'INFIORATA DI SPELLO
E' un evento meraviglioso che si ripete ogni anno, in corrispondenza del Corpus Domini e cioè l'Infiorata.
La preparazione inizia il sabato sera con la Notte dell'Infiorata, quando numerosi gruppi di infioratori partecipano alla "capatura" dei fiori.
Tre chilometri di tappeti ricoperti di fiori che attaversano il cuore della città. Gli appassionati infioratori Spellani, lavorano tutto l'anno al fine di preparare nel modo migliore la manifestazione. Le meravigliose infiorate (tappeti e quadri) che visitatori italiani e stranieri possono ammirare, sono il risultato di un lavoro complesso e difficile che richiede giorni, settimane e addirittura mesi di paziente e sapiente lavoro di molte persone che a gruppi si distribuiscono i compiti, collaborando in totale armonia.
Già qualche settimana prima, passeggiando per i vicoli del centro storico, è possibile vedere persone che stanno preparando i fiori necessari a realizzare il proprio tappeto: margherite, acacie, rose, calendule, da utilizzare secchi per le sfumature più scure, in attesa di raccogliere all'ultimo momento i fiori freschi come fiordalisi blu, bianchi e fucsia, margherite bianche e gialle, l'assenzio, il finocchio e la ginestra.
