> COLLEPEPE is the most populated town of Commune, with around 2 thousand people; crossed by higway E45, is easy attainable also from Foligno and Spoleto, running along the Puglia street, which join Collepepe with Bastardo.

In 1306, it was razed to the ground by the Guelphs of Todi with help from Perugia and Spoleto. In 1544 local farmers obtained a licence to hold a market every Wenesday, in open competition with Marsciano who had a market on the same day, but extending the Collazzone mrket, held on Tuesday.

It is said that the name Collepepe comes from "Colle Priapi", where Priapo was a venerated numen in the area, but as popular tradition would have it, "Colle Pepis" comes from the pepper tree, imported from the East at the time of the crusades.

To rediscover the past you should visit " the Prisons", remains of an old Roman staging post, and St Pancras Abbey: occupied since the XI century by a Cluniac monastic community, but passed over to Capuchins in 1530 AD; the portal, in Romanesque style, stands out in the facade made in white and pink stones. - Parish Church of "Santa Maria Assunta". The Parish Church is placed inside the castle walls, on the main piazza, it has undergone more than one restoration over the centuries, which has altered its original appearance. Inside there are two paintings: a "Madonna del Carmine (...)" by a painter of the eighteenth century and the other depicting the "Saints Emmanuel and Vito" attributed to another painter of the same era, Emauele Alfani.

> COLLEPEPE è il centro più popolato del Comune di Collazzone, con circa duemila abitanti. Attraversato dalla superstrada (uscita Marsciano), è facilmente raggiungibile anche da Foligno o Spoleto, attraverso la strada del puglia che congiunge Collepepe a Bastardo.

Già nel 1290 contava 250 abitanti, ed oltre alla rilevanza urbanistica, Collepepe ha subito acquisito una notevole importanza strategica, per la possibilità di controllare il flusso di merci che venivano da Perugia o dalla Valle Spoletina; per questo motivo Collepepe fu sempre oggetto di contese da parte di Todi, Perugia e Spoleto.

L’originario borgo medioevale poggia su una collina appena sopra la valle del Tevere, mentre la gran parte delle abitazioni si stende fino a valle, fino ad oltrepassare la E45 e raggiungere il fiume Tevere. All’ingresso del castello è possibile visitare la torre d’ingresso del borgo (risalente al XIV secolo) e la chiesa parrocchiale. Un magnifico quanto suggestivo panorama è possibile ammirare dalla sua cima

Collepepe rappresenta ad oggi la principale realtà produttiva ed industriale del Comune di Collazzone, grazie anche alla sua vicinanza alle principali vie di comunicazione.

- Chiesa parrocchiale di Santa Maria Assunta. Collocata all'interno delle mura castellane, ha subito nel corso dei secoli più di un restauro, che ne ha alterato l’aspetto originario. Al suo interno sono custodite due tele: una “Madonna del Carmine (…)” ad opera di un pittore del XVIII secolo e l’altra raffigurante i “Santi Emanuele e Vito” attribuita ad un altro pittore della stessa epoca, Emauele Alfani.
