> ARTISTIC STAINED GLASS, made in 1881 by Francesco Moretti (the uncle of my mother's great-grandfather). Represents the Queen Margherita of Savoia. Francesco realized it to show that it was possible to make a work as beautiful as an oil painting, trying to enhance the artistic glass that is always considered a secondary art. The work was exhibited in Rome, London and Milan, receiving appreciation from even the Queen. The stained glass window is made of leaded colored glass (hidden as much as possible to give "the painting effect") and was painted and fired four times using the hatching technique / dots thus obtaining a depth that we are not used to seeing in artistic stained glass. Dimensions 222 cm x 148 cm.

> VETRATA ARTISTICA, realizzata nel 1881 da Francesco Moretti (lo zio del bisnonno di mia mamma). Rappresenta la Regina Margherita di Savoia.Francesco la realizzò per dimostrare che era possibile fare un’opera bella quanto un quadro ad olio, cercando di valorizzare la vetrata artistica che è considerata da sempre un’arte secondaria. L’opera fu esposta a Roma, Londra e Milano ricevendo l’apprezzamento anche della stessa Regina.La vetrata è composta da vetro colorato legato a piombo (nascosto il più possibile per dare “l’effetto quadro “) ed è stata dipinta e cotta quattro volte usando la tecnica del tratteggio/puntini ottenendo così una profondità che non siamo abituati a vedere nelle vetrate artistiche.
